Switching home care providers is easier than you think

If you're not satisfied with your current home care provider, you have every right to change. Under Support at Home, your funding follows you — not your provider. Here's how it works.

5 signs it's time to switch

Sometimes it's obvious. Sometimes it's a slow accumulation of small frustrations. Here are five signs that your current provider isn't delivering the care your loved one deserves:

The 3-step process

1

Call J.PEER Health

Call 0469 371 121 for a no-obligation chat about your needs, your current situation, and what better care could look like. We'll be honest with you.

2

Give your current provider notice

Check your current care agreement — notice is typically 2–4 weeks. You don't need to explain why. We help you understand the process and what to say.

3

We coordinate the transition

We contact My Aged Care, manage all the paperwork, and ensure there is no gap in care. You shouldn't have to handle a single form.

We handle the transition for you

We know that switching providers can feel daunting — especially when you're already exhausted from managing your loved one's care. That's why J.PEER Health takes the administrative burden off your shoulders completely.

From the moment you decide to switch, we become your advocate. We know the My Aged Care system, we understand the paperwork, and we make sure the transition is smooth — with no disruption to the care your loved one relies on.

Many families tell us they wish they'd switched sooner. The process is far simpler than they expected, and the difference in care quality was immediate.

Frequently asked questions

Will I lose my Support at Home funding when I switch?

No. Your Support at Home funding follows you, not your provider. When you switch to J.PEER Health, your funding classification and budget remain intact. There is no gap in entitlement.

Do I have to tell my current provider why I'm leaving?

No. You simply need to give notice as required by your care agreement — typically 2–4 weeks. You are not obligated to explain your reasons. Your right to choose your own provider is protected under Support at Home.

Is there a waiting period before I can start with J.PEER Health?

We aim for a seamless 2–4 week transition. In many cases, we can begin care the day after your previous provider's notice period ends — with no gap in service. Call us to discuss your specific situation.
